Open Call. Part-time, fixed-term Event Production Assistant, working on Cooper Gallery's public event programme.

Cooper Gallery are seeking applications for an Event Production Assistant to join our team to support the production and delivery of the public engagement programme for our 2025–2026 exhibitions (September 2025 – April 2026).

This role offers an opportunity for an early career producer, curator, or artworker based in Dundee and Augus to work as part of Cooper Gallery’s small team in a fast-paced environment to develop their hands-on skills and experience of all aspects of contemporary art public event production from planning and coordination to delivery and evaluation.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested to work with Cooper Gallery’s distinctive approach to public event production and whose practice in the arts would benefit from this experience.

The Event Production Assistant will have a primary focus on the production and delivery of The Ignorant Art School Sit-in Curriculum #5 events programme and the public events programme of the Spring exhibition of 2026.

The Role Holder will also support related engagement activities including exhibition introductions and tours. Based in Cooper Gallery’s office, the Events Production Assistant will participate in the curatorial and production discussions of the programme, receive support from Cooper Gallery Team and DJCAD Events Production Team. The Role Holder will receive structured mentoring from Cooper Gallery’s Director. The role holder will be line-managed and receive day-to-day support and guidance from Cooper Gallery’s Assistant Curator. The role will also benefit from support and training opportunities provided by the University of Dundee.

Hours and pay

Approx. 2 days per week (total of 44 days)
Between September 2025 and April 2026
Salary £16.22 p/hr (Grade 5 equivalent £26,338 pro rata)
