Drainage Engineer – South Wales
WSP is looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to lead sustainable drainage, coal tip remediation, and flood alleviation projects for local communities in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, and Bridgend.
Responsibilities
* Oversee complex drainage schemes from conception through delivery.
* Conduct quality assurance checks.
* Develop drainage solutions for highways, infrastructure, and site development at feasibility, planning, tender, detailed design, and construction support stages.
* Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) aligning with current standards and guidelines.
* Ensure health, safety, and welfare of the team.
* Champion personal development and that of colleagues.
Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualifications or progression towards professional qualification.
* Strong experience from feasibility to detailed design delivery, compliant with SuDS.
* Knowledge of Manual, Sewers for Adoptions, DMRB, Local Design Specifications, CDM2015, and BIM.
* Preparation and approval of contract documents and specifications.
* Evidence of successful delivery of projects/ programmes meeting quality and commercial targets.
* Proficiency in Civil 3D, Causeway Flow, or Micro-Drainage.
* Understanding of the SAB process and ability to liaise with contractors, clients, and statutory bodies.
* Experience with construction support and survey supervision.
* Familiarity with S19, S38/278, and S104/106 reporting.
