Responsibilities and duties of the EC and I Engineer role
* Reporting to the E&M Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering on site.
* Ensuring compliance with functional safety, cyber security, and hazardous area management standards.
* Managing EC&I maintenance systems, contracts, and reporting to meet operational and safety requirements.
* Supervising and developing your team, maintaining high levels of competence and performance.
* Overseeing safety planning, scheduling, and execution of EC&I works for both internal and external resources.
* Supporting key site processes, including CMMS, maintenance workflows, and strategic spares management.
* Leading fault diagnosis, investigations, and improvement initiatives across EC&I systems.
Professional qualifications
* HNC/HND (or equivalent) in electrical, control, or instrumentation engineering.
* Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
* Proven experience in a power generation, energy from waste, or similar heavy industrial environment.
* Strong knowledge of EC&I legislation, standards, and best practice.
* Competence in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
