Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our respiratory medicine team at the RVI as a static band 6.
The postholder will work as part of both the Physiotherapy team and ward MDTs, in order to deliver physical rehabilitation and respiratory care to our patients admitted to the respiratory medicine wards.
The successful applicant will support the Band 7 Physiotherapy Team Lead to ensure best clinical practice to relevant clinical guidelines and standards.

Following a period of in-house assessment, induction and training (as appropriate), to be part of the emergency duty on-call and weekend rota.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Applicants should be Chartered Physiotherapists with HCPC registration, have experience as a Physiotherapist in the NHS in a rotational post providing a broad range of experience across the core areas of physiotherapy and be able to provide evidence of a commitment to CPD. Good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure are also essential requirements of this post.
There is an on-call commitment with this post and you will be required to work on a rota pattern to support seven day working.
Main duties include;
* assessment and treatment of respiratory patients on medical wards,
* assessing and encouraging mobility,
* progressing rehabilitation programmes
* working alongside the MDT for planning discharge,
* referring onward to community based services as required,
* relevant education of MDT and physiotherapy team
* relevant service improvement
* leadership and support of junior rotational staff and associate practitioner
Job Purpose
* To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care (assessment, treatment and advice) to a complex patient group in specialty
* If applicable to role, participate in the Senior Physiotherapy general rotational scheme, which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings, some of which are regional specialities
