We are seeking a knowledgeable, confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at White Cross Vets on a full‑time basis. Our practice is well‑equipped with modern facilities including dental X‑ray, digital X‑ray, a new ultrasound machine, an in‑house laboratory and Sedivue. We have two veterinary surgeons, a third returning soon, two Registered Veterinary Nurses and an additional RVN role to fill. The nursing team is supported by a Student Veterinary Nurse, a Head Receptionist and a Client Care Coordinator, providing a friendly and well‑supported working environment. We collaborate closely with neighbouring clinics in Stanningley, Guiseley and Roundhay, creating a strong network. We hold monthly wellbeing afternoons and offer a dedicated evening helpline. How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, overseeing all nursing aspects of the practice and supporting the delivery of high‑quality patient and client care.
You’ll be responsible for setting and maintaining nursing standards, leading clinical governance and quality improvement activity, and developing a capable, confident nursing team. Working closely with the wider practice leadership team, you’ll shape culture, performance and ways of working. This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) across 4 or 5 days, including a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota. You will work closely with a Practice Director who takes a coaching approach, as well as with a head receptionist and our long‑standing clinic director. There is also a central office in Guiseley for support.

* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
* Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced medical and surgical nursing skills.
