Role - Buyer & Supply Chain Planner
Location - Basingstoke (hybrid working)
Type - Permanent position
Salary - £40,000-£48,000 + benefits
Key responsibilities of the Buyer & Supply Chain Planner include, but are not limited to:
Owning and managing the programme, ensuring robust sourcing aligned to the strategic category plan.
Maintaining and updating the Manufacturing Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring alignment between supply, forecast, and operational requirements.
Monitoring and managing stock levels, raising purchase orders, maintaining supplier communication and ensuring continuity of supply.
Driving SAP paper part‑number creation to ensure materials can be ordered well ahead of operational need.
Carrying out quote analysis and presenting recommendations that balance cost, availability, and quality for bids and proposals.
Raising and managing paper purchase orders with approved suppliers and maintaining accurate delivery data in SAP.
Creating and maintaining orders and keeping documentation updated as orders progress through the supply chain.
Building strong supplier relationships to optimise performance, improve value for money, and ensure reliability of supply.
Key skills & experience required for the Buyer & Supply Chain Planner role include (but are not limited to):
Prior industry experience within manufacturing, supply chain, procurement or planning.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable liaising at all levels.
Analytical, structured approach and confidence working with forecasts, data and operational planning tools.
