~ Check your local transport links here: We are looking for a Sous Chef to join us at King's College, Taunton, working for the global catering provider Sodexo. The food we offer our students is the best in the region and beyond, and we need a forward-thinking chef to join our team. We offer straight shifts, and you will be working in a team that revolves around a two-week shift cycle. Our shifts are 06:15-14:15 and 11:45-19:45, with occasional alterations for functions. We do not work unsociable hours and your holiday allowance includes Bank Holidays. Christmas has an extended period of ''gifted'' holiday.
Be a kitchen star and plan all operations & training for the production team
Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods
Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts
Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide & develop
Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard
Food and Hygiene and Health and Safety Certificates
Experience in menu planning and production
Hold basic food handling skills certification:
NVQ Level 2 - desirable
Level 2 Food safety Certificate - desirable
Training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be ongoing throughout the year.
