We are seeking to recruit a Senior Social Worker to join our Children & Families team based in Wishaw to provide professional leadership and help us maintain our high standards of service delivery.
Children & Families are part of North Lanarkshire Council’s new Education and Families Directorate. You will join our team as we undertake the ambitious ‘We Aspire’ programme to transform our services and improve outcomes for our communities. You will support the management team in ensuring that Children & Families services are integrated into the new structure while maintaining vital partnerships with adult social care, NHS Lanarkshire, Police Scotland, Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire, and other key partners.

Working within frameworks such as GIRFEC, child protection, and looked after children, we encourage innovative and evidence-based practices. Our partnerships are well-established, supported by ongoing self-evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will need strong leadership skills to motivate staff and foster a culture of effective service delivery focused on quality outcomes.

Essential requirements include significant post-qualifying experience, including in relevant disciplines, a successful track record in inter-agency collaboration, leadership skills, and knowledge of risk assessment and management frameworks. You must hold a CQSW/DipSW or equivalent, be registered with the SSSC, and be eligible to become a PVG Scheme member prior to starting.

*Casual/sessional roles are paid 12.1% of the hourly rate for each hour worked, inclusive of holiday pay and public holidays, paid only for hours worked.
