The Receptionist is responsible for providing an efficient and effective front‑line service as part of the Primary Care Centre (PCC). You will carry out general reception and clerical duties, including data inputting into designated IT systems to ensure the smooth running of the unit. You will also effectively set up the PCC for clinicians and patients, ensuring all checks are completed.

The PCC service operates across 8 sites, Monday to Friday 18:30 – 08:00, and Friday 18:00 – Monday 08:00, 365 days a year including Bank Holidays. A variety of shift patterns are available during operational hours. This is a bank position with no fixed working pattern; you may select shifts that suit your availability through our electronic rota system, subject to service needs and shift availability.

* Provide a customer‑oriented reception, interacting with patients and relatives politely and courteously at all times.
* Ensure the smooth running of the site, logging all medication and prescriptions with the clinician each shift.
* Liaise and communicate effectively and sympathetically with all visitors, acting as a focal point for enquiries.
* Obtain patient demographic details sensitively and input them into the electronic records management system, ensuring accuracy.
* Pass information appropriately between systems to facilitate the patient’s progress through the service.
* Follow safeguarding processes and support child booking.
* Support clinicians with computer usage as needed.
* Ensure that all equipment, consumables, and environment are safe, stocked and clean.
* Assist with patient surveys, questionnaires and other ad‑hoc tasks to meet service needs.
* Maintain confidentiality, GDPR and Information Governance principles.
