Senior Project Lead – Swift Delivery Programme Location: Hybrid (1 day a week on-site in Birmingham) Contract Type: Full-Time, 5 days per week Rate: £350 per day Umbrella, Inside IR35 Contract Length: 3 months Start Date: ASAP Sector: Public Sector / Transport Innovation Experience Required: Project delivery (apps/systems focus), not necessarily Local Government About the Role We’re seeking a driven and experienced Senior Project Lead to join an organisation in the West Midlands playing a key role in the delivery of SWIFT – the region’s innovative ticketing and mobility solution. As part of the Transport for West Midlands team, you’ll manage end-to-end delivery of significant digital or system-based projects within the Swift Programme. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, private sector partners and innovation communities. Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of Swift projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet time, quality and budget goals Manage the full project lifecycle using structured gated governance and PM frameworks Develop and monitor detailed project plans and budgets Oversee procurement, contract administration, risk/issue management, and stakeholder reporting Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, promoting transparency and effective delivery Support strategic direction and continuous improvement within the projects function Requirements: Proven experience delivering multiple, complex digital or system-based projects Strong planning, budgeting, and risk management expertise Effective stakeholder and supplier management skills Experience managing public or grant-funded projects is a bonus, but not required Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams in a public sector setting (or equivalent) Knowledge of transport technologies or digital transformation is desirable If you have the right experience and this sounds like the kind of challenge you're looking for, we’d love to hear from you – apply today!
