The listed salary scale is inclusive of a Specialist Environmental allowance of £34,600 pa.Without this allowance, the base salary scale is £40,950- £45,265.

Your work with us
Join us in this important role and you’ll be a key member of our Environmental Management Team,which is responsible for the environmental assessment and approval of offshore energy projectsacross three regional areas of the UK continental shelf. Working to ensure the regulation ofoffshore energy projects takes full account of environmental and social objectives, andprojects do not have a significant adverse on the environment or other uses of the sea, you’llbe responsible for reviewing impact assessments and determining the relevant applications.
You’ll have a range of additional responsibilities, including providing support on thedevelopment of policy regarding emerging environmental issues, and advising operators onlegislative and procedural matters. We’ll also expect you to liaise with statutory consulteesand other environmental bodies, and manage environmental projects and research activitiesfunded by the Department.
Who we’re looking for
With extensive experience of offshore oil and gas, gas unloading and storage, and carboncapture and storage, you’ll have good knowledge of the marine environment, environmental impactassessment, environmental legislation and the management of related issues. With an honoursdegree or its equivalent, you should also have a post-graduate qualification in Climate andAtmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Pollution,Marine Resource Development and Protection, Biology, Bioscience, Marine Biology, Microbiologyor Zoology.
