£30,000 - £35,000 basic + £60,000+ uncapped OTE
This role is designed for experienced B2B sales professionals who want to progress into a full Business Development Manager position, working directly with C-Suite executives in a respected financial and tax consultancy environment.
Based in Salford Quays, you’ll join a high-performing commercial team within a business specialising in R&D tax relief, innovation funding and specialist tax advisory services. The service is sophisticated, commercially valuable, and sold through informed, professional conversations — not pressure tactics.
The opportunity
In this role, you’ll operate at the front end of the sales process, developing relationships with senior decision-makers and laying the groundwork for high-value client engagements.
You will:
* Lead discovery conversations with MDs, FDs and C-Suite executives
* Qualify complex business needs in a consultative, value-led way
* Generate and progress new business opportunities
* Collaborate closely with senior BDMs and leadership
* Develop the skills required for full-cycle BDM responsibility
This is a career-building role, not a short-term sales job.
Who we’re looking for
* 2+ years experience in B2B consultative sales or business development
* Proven ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders
* Mature, credible and commercially aware
* Motivated by progression, earnings and professional development
* Comfortable in a structured, high-performance environment
Graduate or non-graduate — attitude, professionalism and experience matter most.
Progression & earning potential
* £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary
* £50,000+ uncapped OTE in Year 1
* Progression to Business Development Manager within the first year, based entirely on merit
* Year 2 BDMs earning £100k+ OTE on average
* Long-term, compoundable commission structure
* Top-performing BDM earned £250k+ last year
