What you will do
* Operate, maintain and respond to flood and coastal risk management assets, ensuring their optimal performance in safeguarding communities.
* Tackle incidents and emergencies related to flooding and other environmental challenges, contributing to a 24/7 standby roster.
* Contribute to initiatives such as installing flood barriers, building sandbag walls, deploying high-volume pumps, and providing assistance to affected communities during flood situations.
* Utilise a wide range of tools and equipment, including chainsaws, strimmers/brush cutters, heavy plant machinery, boats, and more.
* Participate in structural maintenance, vegetation management, small construction projects, soft engineering methods, beach maintenance, and culvert/grille clearances.
* Operate, maintain and respond to assets ranging from large flood relief channels and flood storage reservoirs to local flood defences in both urban and rural environments.
* Carry out a mix of asset operation, maintenance (e.g., vegetation control, small construction tasks) and incident response, using a range of hand tools to ride-on plant and tractors.
* Use IT devices to track work tasks and communicate with team members.

* Starting salary of £25,308 rising to £27,293 for Team Member Level 2C after 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance.

Requirements & qualifications
* Ability to work in all weather conditions in urban and rural environments as part of a dedicated team.
* A valid UK manual driving licence and ability to travel to your base depot within 60 minutes to respond to incidents.
* Passion for the outdoors and a genuine commitment to protecting the environment.
* Literacy and numeracy skills, willingness to learn in-house systems and use IT devices, and a basic understanding of health and safety requirements (full training provided).
* Full role flexibility, with travel to depots and dispersion to field teams as required.
Where you will work
You will travel to your depot to check in daily and then be dispersed in smaller teams to carry out field work within our geographical area.

* Advert close: Monday 13th October. Interviews to be held w/c Monday 3rd November.
* This is a full-time role; in certain cases, options for job share or set days may be considered.
* We will maintain a reserve list for 12 months and may offer similar roles at other locations linked to this position.
