About the Employer

About the Role
The role involves supporting D with daily activities, promoting his independence and helping him develop life‑skills at his own pace. You will work closely with D’s family to create a calm, structured environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist and encourage D’s socialisation and participation in activities.
* Promote friendships, confidence and independence.
* Attend after‑school clubs that foster independence and skill acquisition, as well as physical activity sessions to improve communication and build relationships.
* Adapt daily tasks to meet D’s varying needs.
* Report any accidents or hazards to the employer immediately and ensure the individual’s safety at all times.
* Comply with a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Required Skills
* Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
* Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy; social media use related to the role is prohibited.
* Work independently and follow instructions accurately.
* Be patient, supportive and caring.
* Provide non‑judgemental emotional support; have good listening skills.
* Be empathetic and have a lively personality.
* Have previous caring experience, especially in childcare or special needs settings.
* Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employer’s needs daily.
* Be self‑motivated and willing to get involved.
* Hold a full driving licence and be at least 21 years old.
Required Training
* Move and Handle – must already hold a relevant qualification.
* First Aid – must already hold a relevant qualification.
* Any additional training deemed necessary for the role.
Transport Requirement
A full driving licence is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer’s vehicle. The licence holder must be at least 21 years old.
Availability
* Tuesday, 4–6 pm
* Thursday, 4–6 pm
* Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
