Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical secretary to join our Healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong office, typing and administrative experience to ensure the smooth opeartion of our Medical practice. The role is essential in providing excellent support to our Healthcare professionals and to ensure a positive experience for all patients.

we are looking for individuals who feel they can incorporate their skills into our secretarial team. Onsite training will be provided to the successful candidate .

The role is 22.5 hours over the working week.

Cover will also be required for periods of absence or sick leave

Main duties of the job

To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes typing in an accurate and quality manner of letters, reports, patient referrals and agendas and minutes of Practice meetings.

Making appointments and bookings via Choose and Book referral system.

To establish and maintain administrative systems so that information is easily accessible and secure.

File patient records and correspondence in electronic patient records.

Receive incoming and initiate outgoing calls in order to facilitate timely appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with queries.

Maintain clinical computer records in an accurate and secure manner.

Assist with gathering of statistics and information when required.

To provide cover for the secretarial team during periods of sickness and Annual leave.

Our secretarial team consists of 3 members of staff of which the successful candidate will become part of.

* GCSE Grade A to C in English & Maths
* OCR Text Processing Level1 Award (RSA 1)
* Previous secretarial experience.
