Overview
We are seeking a skilled General builder/Bricklayer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of masonry techniques and be proficient in bricklaying. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Brick Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining brick structures while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
* Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry units according to specifications.
* Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
* Mix mortar and other materials as required for construction tasks.
* Construct walls, arches, and other structures using various masonry techniques.
* Repair existing brickwork by replacing damaged bricks or repointing joints.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and roofers, to ensure project completion.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
* Operate welding equipment when necessary for specific projects.
Experience
* Proven experience in bricklaying and General building is essential.
* Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels.
* Proficiency in operating power tools relevant to masonry work.
* Experience in carpentry or roofing is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus for certain projects.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
