Your new role Working on a large live NHS hospital site, this project is a major refurbishment and upgrade of two existing substations. One low voltage and one high voltage. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of this project. You will be responsible for managing the various subcontractors on site with a key focus on health and safety. This role is veryplex, and you'll be involved in the termination through to the rmissioning of high voltage (HV) switchgear, low voltage (LV) transformer busbars, and associated electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuringpliance with safety and quality standards, and driving the project to meet key milestones with the project projected to last 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management & Coordination.
2. Supervise installation, testing, andmissioning of HV switchgear and LV transformer busbars.
3. Ensure all electrical workplies with relevant standards.
4. Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
5. Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring quality construction and adherence to timelines.
6. Review subcontractor scopes, monitor resource allocation, and resolve conflicts or delays.
7. Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on site.
8. Lead toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety audits.
9. Ensure all personnel are trained and certified for HV/LV work.
10. Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and progress updates.
11. Report regularly to the Project Manager on status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
What you'll need to succeed
12. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
13. Substation experience (busbars/transformers/switchgear/HV/LV)
14. Proven Electrical Engineering experience linked to the job role.
15. Proven track record of an Electrical Site Manager on a similar project.
16. Strong understanding of health & safety andpliance requirements.
17. Excellentmunication and organisational skills.
18. Full UK Driving Licence
19. SMSTS certification
20. IOSH or NEBOSH
