We're looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team across Oxford, Cambridge, and Bedford. In this role you'll work within our SHEA team, supporting the design and delivery of major projects such as East West Rail. You will also monitor and measure the environmental performance, set standards, and identify opportunities for improvement or best practice.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year + private healthcare + £5.9k annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you'll provide expert guidance to project teams on legal, client, and company requirements, ensuring all environmental compliance obligations, objectives, and targets are met.
Your day to day will include:
* Meeting client environmental and sustainability requirements and commitments (e.g., East West Rail, Network Rail Environmental & Social Minimum Requirements NR/L2/ENV/015), implementing Kier's environmental sustainability strategy, and supporting project teams in its development
* Maintaining and implementing the Environmental and Social Management Plan and supporting documents
* Ensuring all environmental permits, licences, consents, and third-party conditions are in place on time, communicating and complying with all conditions
* Work proactively with project delivery teams to ensure environmental risk and opportunities are identified, communicated and managed
* Engaging with supply chain and procurement teams to maximise environmental sustainability benefits and meet client requirements
* Collaborating with the Head of Environment for Rail to promote consistency across Kier Transportation's major projects portfolio and support our One Planet Action Plan
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Environmental Advisor is ideal if you:
* Hold a degree level qualification (minimum HNC/HND) in an environmental or sustainability related discipline and are an Associate or Member of a relevant environmental institute
* Have proven experience in environmental management and practical knowledge of maintaining, implementing, and improving EMS certified to BS EN ISO 14001
* Bring a strong understanding of the wider sustainability agenda, best practice, and associated legislation, with a focus on environmental sustainability
