Northumbria Health & Care Academy is seeking a Programme Lead for the brand‑new Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship Programme (RNDA). The role supports the delivery of the RNDA in partnership with the University of Sunderland and Northumbria Academy.

Job Summary
A rare and exciting opportunity for an exceptional Nurse and Educator to lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a structured RNDA pathway. The successful candidate will be an experienced educator with a strong clinical background and a postgraduate qualification in education.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver a contextualised RNDA curriculum aligned to the University of Sunderland programme and the Nursing and Midwifery Council standards.
* Develop and maintain teaching resources, evidence‑based learning materials and research opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with national apprenticeship regulations and contribute to national research/teaching frameworks.
* Line‑manage the RNDA module lead staff and oversee teaching and learning for up to 50 RNDA students at one time.
* Collaborate with student support, practice educators, clinical supervisors and wider NHS teams across the trust.
* Recruit and manage student progression, experience, outcomes and quality improvement activities.
* Provide clinical practice on a regular basis as a registered nurse.
* Represent the Academy and collaborate with the University of Sunderland RNDA Programme Lead.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Registered Nurse (NMC) with effective registration, or Allied health professional with effective registration (HPCP) or Registered Midwife (NMC).
* Degree level in Nursing or a related subject.
* Post‑graduate qualification in a related subject area (Masters study).
* Higher Education teaching qualification or plan to obtain within 12 months (e.g., PGCE).
* Experience in teaching/employing evidence‑based nursing education and research.
Desirable
* Higher Education Academy Fellowship status.
* Professional Nursing Advocate designation.
* Non‑medical prescribing qualification if teaching programmes involving prescribing.
