Estates Team Supervisor
Location: Rutland
Salary: £27, + excellent benefits
Keep operations running. Lead a hands-on team. Be part of something bigger.
We're looking for an experienced, proactive Estates Team Supervisor to take charge of day-to-day operational support within a dynamic and varied estate environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong practical skill set and leadership experience to take the next step in their career — supporting buildings, people, and events in a fast-paced, high-functioning environment.
The Role:
As Estates Team Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to person for organising and delivering essential operational support — from maintenance and porterage, to event setup, equipment logistics, and day-to-day problem-solving across a historic and active estate. You’ll lead a team of Estates Technicians and work closely with the Estates Services Manager to keep everything running smoothly.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily activities of the Estates Technicians, ensuring reactive and planned tasks are prioritised effectively.
2. Assist with work planning and task allocation using the CAFM system and Helpdesk.
3. Support maintenance across the estate, including minor repairs, decorating, and compliance checks.
4. Coordinate porterage tasks, including furniture and equipment moves across academic, residential, and staff buildings.
5. Lead support for events and school functions (e.g. open days, sports events, exams).
6. Manage the delivery/collection of equipment and assist with general waste and recycling duties.
7. Carry out external tasks such as gritting, small road repairs, and site upkeep.
8. Ensure health & safety is maintained and report any issues promptly.
About You:
You’re a hands-on problem-solver with great organisational skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude. You take pride in your work and enjoy leading a team to get things done efficiently and to a high standard.
What You’ll Need:
9. Experience supervising or managing a team in an operational/estates environment
10. Strong practical skills (multi-trade background or facilities maintenance experience ideal)
11. Ability to work independently and confidently in a busy environment
12. Manual handling awareness
13. Good communication skills and a team-first approach
14. Competent IT skills (CAFM system experience a bonus)
15. Previous porterage or cleaning experience (desirable)
16. A full UK driving licence (preferred)*
*Please note: this role involves driving estate vehicles. Offers of employment are conditional on being accepted for insurance cover under our policy.
What We Offer:
✔ A close-knit and supportive working environment
✔ A role that offers variety, impact, and job satisfaction
✔ Training opportunities and room to grow your skill set
✔ Generous holiday allowance and employee benefits package
