Behaviour Support Assistant – Gateshead Alternative Provision Start: ASAP or January Contract: Full time This Gateshead alternative provision is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who can bring empathy, consistency and clear boundaries to their classroom. You’ll be supporting young people who’ve experienced trauma, exclusions or significant barriers to learning. The school focuses on connection before correction and are brilliant at nurturing pupils who need a fresh start. You’ll be doing: • Offering 1:1 support during lessons and break times • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop coping strategies • Supporting behaviour plans and positive routines • Working with SENCOs and behaviour leads to shape individual support You’ll need: • Experience with SEMH or youth work • Confidence working with dysregulated pupils • A kind, firm and upbeat approach All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
