As Deputy Electrical Senior Authorised Engineer, you will oversee site-wide electrical, control, and instrumentation strategy through Area Electrical Engineers. Report to the Head of Engineering Governance and coordinate with key stakeholders to deploy governance activities. Primarily office-based with some home working opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with industry regulations, including Conventional and Nuclear Safety.
2. Deliver CE&I governance by setting standards, guiding engineering, and monitoring performance through audits and metrics.
3. Ensure CE&I processes meet national/international standards, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions, and CDM 2015 regulations.
4. Oversee 11KV system governance, including switching approvals, engineering oversight, protection studies, and input on related projects.
5. Manage Design Authority functions as part of major and minor new projects.
6. Work with other engineering disciplines, team members, engineers and the wider Springfields team.
7. Apply Human Factors principles in all engineering activities.
8. Support and mentor junior engineers, graduates, and apprentices.
9. Maintain WEC training compliance and pursue CPD, with some travel required.
10. Support wider engineering activities, including COMAH oversight, process safety, and related areas.
Qualifications:
11. Minimum 10 years in a relevant CE&I engineering environment
12. Experience CE&I engineering governance
13. Preferably worked within a Design Authority or similar oversight function
14. Familiarity with 11KV electrical distribution systems
15. Proficient in BS7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations)
16. Knowledge of CE&I standards and regulations (national/international)
17. Understanding of Human Factors and Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511, SIL levels)
