Recruitment Central, resourcing on behalf of our Humberside based client, have a requirement for 1 x Electrical Mate/ Improver for a Permanent role based in Hull.
An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team with an existing client portfolio servicing the local industry including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and energy generation
Location: Predominantly based within Hull and servicing the Hull and Humber Region with working away as opportunities and needs arise.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 per week (additional hours may be available / required)
Working Time: Flexible to meet business needs, typically Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:30 to 17:00
Salary: Rates align with JIB rates and will be depending on experience, qualifications, and competency typically £10.50 to £17.60 per hour (£22k to £36k pa).

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Industrial and commercial electrical installation and project works, undertaking a range of tasks suitable to the skill level, experience, and competence of the successful candidate,
* Providing assistance to qualified electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical installations within an industrial and commercial setting,
* Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
* Prepare work sites, for example by setting up ladders and safety barriers.
* Follow technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions accurately.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly.
* Always adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during tasks.
* Attend training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills.
* For electrical apprentices’ progression through the apprenticeship scheme to becoming a qualified electrician,
Requirements:
* 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice (ideally), or experienced electricians mate.
* 4 GCSEs, ideally including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualification(s).
* A full clean UK drivers license and own transport.
* Availability to attend training courses as applicable.
* Basic understanding of electrical systems gained through education or previous experience.
* Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc.
* Familiarity with power tools used in electrical work like drills, saws, or testers is advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when following technical instructions.
* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
* Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks in a fast-paced environment.
