Bank Senior Care Assistant (Newcastle upon Tyne | Flexible Hours | £13.90/hr)
Location: Park View Care Home, Feetham Avenue, Forest Hall
Job Description: St Martins Care are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to work at their busy Residential Care Home. We are interested in who you are as a person and your passion for high quality care for older people, teamwork, and communication.
Role responsibilities
* Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
* Supervise staff and ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
* Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

* Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
* Work in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
* Maintain and develop relationships with residents and loved ones.

* Know and work within the Fundamental Standards.
* Understand the regulatory framework governing the service, including CQC requirements.

Essential Criteria
* Vocational qualification level 3 Health and Social Care.
* Level 3 Medication Management (typo corrected as "Level 3 Medication").
* Good English (written and verbal).
Skills
* Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records to ensure compliance.
* Good communication skills to build rapport with residents and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about needs.
* Problem-solving skills to adapt to situations, develop solutions, and report safeguarding concerns.
* Assist residents with daily tasks according to their care plan (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, bathroom).
* Supervise staff providing residents with support during daily tasks.
* Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.

* Previous experience in a similar environment.
