Overview
We seek experienced Production Chemists for adhoc/call out jobs for production/process operations offshore UK
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate compliance to all test methods, procedures and quality systems essential for best practice
* Liaise with appropriate Client support if a problem with equipment, methods or samples occurs and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service
* Identify and implement improvements to current laboratory operation/infrastructure in order to maximise equipment availability and effective operations
* Ensure technical standards competence standards are maintained and continually improved
* Ensure compliance with client equipment management requirements
* Ensure adequate stock of consumables to ensure continuous productivity
* Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe/ suitable for use
* Completion of daily, weekly and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per platform procedures/sampling schedule
* Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to permit traceability and ensure compliance
* Comprehensive understanding, knowledge of laboratory and analytical techniques and equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to client
* Resolution of adhoc requests in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective operations
* Provision of end of trip handover reports and additional reports as required to Client personnel
* Provide training and mentoring of additional team members as required
Skills/Experience
* Experience of Off-shore Oil Industry related analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis to meet exacting process and client demands
* Oil in water training
* Oil in sand training
* Chemical Injection training on pumps
* Must be computer literate in use of word and excel
* Must have and maintain knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods
* Must have detailed knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures, understanding there-in and ensure laboratory processes adhere to said standards
Qualifications
* HND Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject, or equivalent
* Full Offshore industry standard training package
Certificates
* OPTIO/NOGEPA or OLF Offshore survival
* OGUK, NOGEPA or Norwegian Offshore Medical
* Shoulder Measurements
