Quantity Surveyor
To consistently deliver a meticulous and professional commercial service across all assigned projects, ensuring effective administration and alignment with key business objectivescovering health and safety, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate within the companys integrated management system, policies, and procedures.
* Foster a strong operational-commercial partnership to meet project needs.
* Monitor and manage financial risks and associated budgets.
* Oversee performance standards and quality control.
* Secure subcontractors at competitive rates, optimizing procurement efficiency.
* Build lasting relationships with clients and their representatives.
* Encourage cross-department collaboration through effective communication and adherence to company procedures.
* Develop a clear understanding of contracts and project scopes, ensuring alignment among project team members.
* Establish a strategic procurement approach in line with contract timelines, continuously monitoring and adjusting as needed.
* Prepare and submit timely applications for payments to support cash flow management.
* Ensure the recovery of retentions per contractual agreements.
* Identify opportunities for added value and submit timely pricing proposals to maximize returns.
* Conduct proactive cost and value reviews with site teams to maintain accurate forecasting.
* Provide guidance and development support to other project team members.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
* Contract awareness and financial acumen.
* Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes.
* Knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Experience:
* Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
* Experience with dispute resolution (desirable).
* Understanding of CVRs and financial reporting (desirable).
Technical Proficiency:
* Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Evision, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Collaborator).
* Ability to navigate company-specific cost management systems.
Training & Qualifications:
* Full driving licence.
* Comprehensive understanding of NEC3, NEC4, ECC, ICE, and JCT contracts.
* Preferably HNC or degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
* Membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (desirable).
