We're hiring on behalf of a leading European logistics provider, known for its tailored, high-performance solutions – and we’re now looking to expand the UK sales team with a dynamic Business Development Manager.
This is your chance to take ownership of a defined region and grow a portfolio with real potential, working closely with a supportive commercial and operational team. While there will be regular interaction with the office and colleagues, this role offers the flexibility to spend time in the field meeting customers and managing your own schedule.
The Role
You’ll inherit a manageable portfolio of Key Accounts, with around a number of regular spending customers and others more transactional. Your focus? Retention, growth, and strategic development – stretching existing relationships and forging new ones. With a long sales cycle, success means playing the long game, understanding your customers, and delivering value through consultative selling.
You'll:
* Manage and extend key client relationships across the North of England
* Identify and win new business, particularly within chemical producers and automotive
* Build account strategies tailored to each client’s needs
* Lead on RFQs and solution-based proposals
* Collaborate closely with your team and wider commercial stakeholders
* Keep your sales pipeline strong and well-reported
What We’re Looking For
* Proven B2B sales experience,
* Any experience within transport, logistics, or sectors such as chemicals, automotive, manufacturing, or industrial supply chains would be highly valuable
* Someone who understands – or is eager to learn – the complexities of long-cycle sales
* A commercially sharp, strategic thinker who builds credibility quickly
* A confident communicator and team player, able to thrive in a close office environment
* Someone who wants to grow, learn, and be part of something evolving
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
