We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fibroscan Technician to support health improvement interventions for individuals with potentially compromised liver health. This newly created role is essential to Derbyshire's strategy to reduce harm from Alcohol Related Liver Disease, serving both current patients and the wider community with concerns about liver health.
The post holder will be responsible for conducting Fibroscans in various clinical and community settings across DHCFT bases in Chesterfield, North-East Derbyshire, Bolsover, and High Peak and Dales Districts. Patients will include those in treatment for alcohol or substance use, working alongside DRP colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform Fibroscans and provide harm reduction and healthy lifestyle advice to service users in treatment for alcohol or substance use.
2. Conduct Fibroscans at community engagement events to help reduce Alcohol Related Liver Disease harm in Derbyshire.
3. Assist with broader DRP interventions such as keywork, prescribing, and health interventions.
4. Offer practical advice to individuals affected by substance misuse, including parents/carers, and refer to appropriate support services as needed.
