We are currently able to offer Full time, Part time, and Bank contracts within the Stranraer team.
No prior care experience is necessary as we will invest in your qualifications and provide full training through our award-winning learning & development team prior to starting!
Applicants must have a driving licence for manual vehicles; access to your own car is not required.
About The Role
Our service in Stranraer supports individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Working with people with complex needs can be challenging but also very rewarding. Some individuals may be non-verbal or exhibit behaviours of concern, which are their form of communication. To ensure safety, staff are trained in physical intervention techniques, used as a last resort.
Support involves mostly 24-hour care, including sleepovers, with shifts of 8 hours.
Your Responsibilities as a Complex Needs Practitioner Could Include
* Social Support: Assisting individuals to engage with their communities through outings to leisure activities such as day centres, cinema, swimming, etc.
* Personal Care: Supporting individuals with bathing, dressing, medical appointments, incontinence care, and maintaining their wellbeing.
* Practical Support: Helping with household tasks like housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, and shopping to maintain their tenancy.
