Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist – Tower Inpatient Ward, Clacton‑On‑Sea
Shape the future of Dementia Care and join the service where your clinical insight will directly enhance the lives of older adults living with dementia.
The post holder will provide medical leadership for the multidisciplinary team comprising resident doctors, ward nursing team, psychiatrists, CPNs, OT and psychologist. You will work closely with ward managers, the wider MDT and community teams to provide a safe, effective service and contribute to an effective care pathway for patients across the service.
You will act as the Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients under your care on Tower Ward, including those detained under the Mental Health Act, and carry out the duties expected of an RC proficiently and in a timely manner. You must be knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and apply it appropriately to patient care.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration
* On the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent, or within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.

The Consultant Psychiatrist is a key clinical leader for the Team, working independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health Services. Working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians, and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering great mental health services. The post holder would be part of the senior management team of the team and be integral in developing and improving the service.
