We're looking to recruit a Railway Maintenance Operative (Track) / Diesel Driver to work at Snowdon Mountain Railway, this is a full-time and permanent role. Our operating season runs from mid-March until the end of October, but the role also includes closed season responsibilities.
You will be required after suitable training to drive the railways diesel locomotives for engineering and passenger trains as required.
During the Operating Season the main duties of the role will be as a Trackmanworking on and maintaining the track and associated infrastructure from Llanberis to the Summit of Snowdon. Your hours of work will be an average of 48 hours per week over a four on four off shift pattern, which will include weekend working (March to November).
During the closed season you'll be working as part of the Maintenance Team on repairs of the Track and Infrastructure or as allocated to another Sub-Department. Your hours of work will be an average of 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (November to March).
The role requires working outside in all weathers, suitable PPE will be provided.
Starting salary: £28,325 pa.
Experience desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
