On 1 April 2019, Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital, and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs: Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Job Overview
Due to the nature of the service this post is covering, we have a genuine occupational requirement for a male appointment (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 37.5 hour a week, Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our team in our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 6 bedded mixed gender mental health unit based within the Mental Health Unit, Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Our unit offers an opportunity for individuals to provide care and support to service users experiencing severe mental illness. The job will require you to work alongside and support registered nurses and clinicians in delivering a care planned approach to improve service users' mental health.
We work collaboratively with patients as a multi-disciplinary team in providing gold standard care and promoting mental health recovery. PICU is a challenging environment that allows for development opportunities and to work within a supportive team.

Responsibilities
* Work within a Multidisciplinary Team under the direction of a registered nurse.
* Deliver health care within the Care and Treatment framework.
* Provide support to service users on an individual and group basis within the inpatient setting.
* With support from Registered Nurses, be responsible for and manage your own workload and safety.
* Participate in supervision from Registered Nurses.
Actively participate in continuing professional development through the Knowledge Skills Framework.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
