Were looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of port infrastructure in Teignmouth. This is a varied, hands-on role where youll work on a wide range of assets, helping to ensure safe and efficient port operations.
Shift pattern: The role operates on a rotating shift pattern of 06:0014:30 and 08:3017:00, with weekend availability required depending on operational and engineering demand.
What Youll Be Doing
* Carry out inspection, maintenance, fault diagnostics, and installation work in line with current legislation and company standards
* Maintain cranes, machinery, and port equipment
* Maintain port buildings, including transit sheds, offices, and workshop machinery
* Complete scheduled servicing and report defects
What Were Looking For
Essential
* Apprentice-trained Mechanical Fitter
* Experience in maintenance and breakdowns within heavy industry
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Flexible and proactive approach to work
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience or comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
Desirable
* Experience with port equipment (e.g. mobile cranes, loading shovels)
* Background in port or industrial engineering environments
