Our long established Engineering client, based in Daventry are looking to recruit an ongoing, temporary 'Quality Inspector'.
Quality Inspector Role:
You will be responsible for the 'Quality Management System' and inspection processes to ensure conforming products. Work closely with internal & external key stakeholders; manufacturing staff and customers regarding technical support of their activities.
You will also be responsible for all areas of the Quality function and provide support to production.
Quality Inspector responsibilities:
* Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and sub assemblies in line with Engineering drawings, the Quality Management System and any customer specific requirements
* Identify and report non-conformance s as per Company procedure and take an active role in root cause analysis, problem solving, containment and corrective action
* Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
* Devise and establish the Company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
* Ensure full compliance of the Company Quality system with the requirements of International standards and in line with customer approvals
* Define quality procedures in conjunction with production leadership
* Be the key point of contact with customers and take responsibility resolving quality concerns
* Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports as required
* Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
* Manage APQP and PPAP process
* Document policies and procedures relating to quality functions
* Support Production with the timely verification of first-offs, and batch inspections on a daily basis
* Champion layered audit throughout the business
Quality Inspection Requirements:
* Must have worked within a Quality Inspection role within the Engineering sector
* Able to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings and specifications
* Experience inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements
* Extensive experience in a range of manufacturing techniques including, CNC milling & turning
* Experience with a wide variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment
* Experience with PPAP submissions
* Experience using CMM (Manual) and other quality measuring equipment
* Automotive industry experience desirable
