{A Topline Description of the Role - max 1 sentence} We are seeking someone to join our team as an International Global Financial Crimes (GFC) Screening and Monitoring Associate. {B Standard Description of Division Team Overview} In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Associate level position within the International GFC Investigations team which is responsible for the detection, investigation and reporting of suspicious activity within all Business Units across APAC and EMEA (including Institutional Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, Investment Management and Investment Banking).. {C Standard Description of the Firm} Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world. Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes both legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Tax Evasion and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity. {D Part 1: Scope of Role ?What you?ll do?} The International GFC Screening & Monitoring Analyst/Associate will be based in Glasgow and report to the International Screening And Monitoring Lead in Glasgow. Primary responsibilities will include: > Assessing the financial crime risks associated with existing clients of the Firm via the ongoing screening processes. > Timely execution of screening alerts involving adverse media reviews, sanctions reviews, transaction monitoring and client activity reviews. > Acting as an escalation point for the relevant Operations and Regional GFC teams to ensure escalations to the team are made correctly and efficiently. > Liaising with key stakeholders within Legal and Compliance and the Business to manage the timely escalation of issues identified in the alert reviews. {D Part 2: Scope of Role ?What you?ll bring? JA Tier expected minimum experience} The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: > Recent experience in financial crimes, compliance, testing, investigations, or other risk/control functions is desired. > Experience of investigating screening alerts, including adverse media, and transaction monitoring is an advantage. > Understanding of financial markets and products (in particular, Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and Investment Banking / Capital Markets) is an advantage. > University degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials. > Possess strong written and verbal communications skills. > Demonstrate a good understanding of financial crimes risks and be able to recognize and escalate risks and issues appropriately. > Highly-motivated and organised self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating and coordinating as part of the global team. > Able to effectively handle a fast-paced environment, re-prioritising work in response to business needs and working to tight deadlines. {E What you can expect from Morgan Stanley} [Standard global paragraph preconfigured in all postings] {F Regional insertions e.g., Wage transparency, EEO, Regulatory etc.} [RECRUITER to insert standard disclosures for location and division where applicable] Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
