Main purpose of the role & responsibilities
As an experienced Service Designer (Consultant) at Kainos, you will be responsible for delivering end‑to‑end, efficient, and consistent service experiences. You will advocate for needs‑based design, design research, design thinking, and service design, and you may manage, coach and develop a small number of staff with a focus on performance and career development. You will be part of our growing Experience Design capability, creating exemplary digital services with a user‑centred focus.

Responsibilities
* Provide clear visibility of the end‑to‑end service experience
* Input to and influence the future of the service experience
* Apply a range of strategic models to projects
* Understand business analysis to form problem statements
* Provide guidance in needs‑based design, design research, design thinking and service design
* Coach and support junior team members
* Collaborate with researchers and the wider team to create experience maps and service blueprints
* Understand a variety of research and design methodologies and approaches
* Design, lead and facilitate workshops using diverse techniques to drive outcomes
* Communicate effectively at all levels
* Demonstrate excellent commercial awareness
* Understand stakeholder management and how to identify, facilitate and map landscapes
* Develop people through managing, coaching and developing senior members of the team and wider community
Minimum (essential) requirements
* Experience delivering end‑to‑end service design for digital products or services
* Ability to provide clear visibility of the end‑to‑end service experience
* Familiarity with a range of strategic models and how to apply them
* Understanding of business analysis to form problem statements
* Ability to guide in needs‑based design, design research, design thinking and service design
* Experience coaching and supporting junior team members
* Comfortable working with researchers and wider team to create experience maps and service blueprints
* Knowledge of various research and design methodologies and approaches
* Ability to design, lead and facilitate workshops to drive outcomes
* Strong communication skills at all levels
* Strong commercial awareness
* Understanding of stakeholder management and landscape mapping
* Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and develop senior members of the team and wider community
Desirable
* Experience in a full‑service digital agency environment
* Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
