Led by you. Due to internal promotion, we are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager to head up a division at our MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) site. What will I be doing? - Collaborate with the other Gate Managers in the creation and maintenance of a Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the purpose of creating a holistic manufacturing plan. Use the MPS to optimise production and plant utilisation, identifying and alleviate bottlenecks, anticipating needs and ultimately deliver the plan. - Participate fully in MPS and Production Activity Control (PAC) meetings and revise schedules through agreement with relevant stakeholders. - Ensure planning activity is co-ordinated between Programmes to ensure optimum business performance and customer satisfaction. - Support the control of working capital (incl Budget), ensuring it is optimised at all times (shift planning). Track performance (average hours) monthly at the work centre level. - Lead and organise your team in the lean and efficient delivery of customer value whilst ensuring SLS MRO business plans and needs are met. Utilising Policy Deployment to its optimum level and always delivering Continuous Improvement. - Contributor to A320F, B737NG and Tornado gross margin performance and order book management. - Work with peers to ensure optimisation and utilisation of equipment and resources. - Support agreed business opportunities to increase added value for customers (used material). - Contribute to Load and Capacity analysis reviews and own for areas of responsibility. - Manage the available human resources to deliver the plan whilst ensuring team flexibility, competence and capability (4* Training) in line with business needs and regulatory requirements. - Continue the excellent progress made in relation to internal Quality and support weekly reviews and action completion. - Continually strive to enhance individual and team effectiveness through the support of people development and managerial activities. General expectations relating to performance management and support of leadership and development initiatives. - The Gate 2 Manager will have direct responsibility for the following: - Plating (Chrome, Nickel, Cadmium, Zinc Nickel and supporting processes). - Heat Treatment. - Grinding. - Bushing. - Paint. - To be accountable for and to elect and supervise dedicated focals in your area of responsibility to control key processes, including but not limited to 5S, Calibration, Maintenance, Health & Safety, Tooling and GPI's. - Enhance Employee Engagement - Contribute to QRQC meetings and own action plans, regular communication sessions. It's easy to take flying for granted, or forget the incredible amount of Candidate skills & requirements What do I need to succeed in the role? - An aerospace and engineering background is highly desired. - Financially and commercially aware. - Experience of leading/managing teams. - A strong working knowledge of lean principles, to Green Belt level, with demonstrated deployment to leverage continuous improvement within a defined area of control. - Familiarity of 8D and QRQC tools would be advantageous. - Comprehensive job knowledge associated to relevant methodologies or best practices and compliance requirements. - Ability to portray full endorsement of business goals and objectives. - Capable of interpreting and communicating KPI's and developing appropriate actions. - A flexible approach with ability to adapt to different working environments. - A keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality. - Effective people development, leadership, coaching and team development skills. - High levels of 'change energy' and demonstrated motivation towards change implementation. - Strong and effective delegation skills. - Effective communication and relationship building skills throughout all levels of the business. - Good listening and interpersonal skills. - Well organised, time management is key to this role in conjunction with excellent organisation skills. - Self-motivated with a proactive working style. - Good knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular Power Point, Word, Excel.
