We are currently recruiting for a Tutor/Lecturer to join our Construction team. The successful candidate must have knowledge of Brickwork, both practical and theory. As a Brick Tutor, you would be delivering knowledge and practical skills to students in a workshop environment and theory in a classroom environment. With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will be responsible for teaching and assessment, supporting your students to achieve qualifications and skills that will prepare them for industry.
Role and Responsibilities
• Teach Brickwork to students in workshop and classroom environments, delivering practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
• Plan, deliver and assess learning to support students in achieving qualifications and industry-ready skills.
• Contribute to the effective assessment of student progress and provide feedback to support improvement.
• Adapt and deliver sessions to meet diverse learner needs and establish a positive learning environment.
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare responsibilities as part of the college framework.
Qualifications and Experience
• Knowledge of Brickwork (practical and theory).
• Teaching qualifications are not mandatory for applicants with extensive industry experience; however, those without teaching qualifications will be supported to obtain them where appropriate.
• Experience in industry is valued and may suit someone seeking a career change to education.
Hours, Tenure and Location
• Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week
• Tenure: Permanent
• Role covers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with other duties on Thursday and Friday (to be discussed).
Salary and Benefits
• Salary: £18,627 - £28,323 (Pro rata of £28,718 - £43,665)
• Benefits include: 42 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (pro rata for part time), on-site parking, on-site gym, funded flu vaccinations and eye tests, CPD opportunities, and more.
