Venari Legal is recruiting for an outstanding client seeking a Senior In-House Solicitor to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with one of the UK's most iconic brands in an innovative environment.
The successful candidate will manage commercial contracts, including technology and outsourcing agreements, third-party supplier arrangements, and other business-related contracts. The role involves supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals, working directly with business partners, and developing the legal service offering.
The client has established a dedicated team to support this work, functioning alongside the in-house legal team. This position is ideal for experienced lawyers looking to join and expand an in-house legal team, offering responsibilities such as:
* Managing and supervising legal team members;
* Shaping innovative legal service delivery models;
* Driving legal process efficiency;
* Working closely with the client’s in-house team to understand and support their business needs.
Requirements include experience supervising lawyers, handling general commercial contracts, media, technology/outsourcing, and intellectual property. The role provides excellent experience, training, and career development prospects.
Responsibilities
Leading a team to deliver comprehensive commercial contract services, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts. Supporting the team with technological solutions and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Collaborating with the in-house legal team and maintaining strong client relationships is essential. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to high standards of client service while fostering a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain a close working relationship with the client;
* Assign legal work to team members;
* Manage team capacity, quality, and availability;
* Set and review personal objectives;
* Participate in financial and operational reporting;
* Coordinate work across legal teams;
* Attend client and internal meetings;
* Assist with quoting for legal work;
* Provide onboarding and training for new team members;
* Support the development of legal precedents and playbooks;
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives;
* Advise on commercial contracts and legal queries.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Experience with media contracts;
* Management experience of legal teams;
* Technology awareness;
* Experience working with sophisticated clients preferred;
* Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
