This specialist SEN setting caters for pupils aged 5 to 19, many of whom have complex learning needs, including speech, language and communication difficulties, alongside physical and sensory impairments.

Role: Autism Support Worker
In this role, you will work alongside the Class Teacher and wider staff team to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and daily care needs.
Key Responsibilities
4. Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures
5. Provide support with feeding, personal care, and hygiene where required
6. Assist with lesson activities by adapting tasks, promoting engagement, and supporting learning outcomes
7. Support behaviour management in line with school strategies
8. Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage communication and independence
9. Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables)
10. Recent experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities in a care or education setting
11. Willingness to provide personal care, including feeding and hygiene support
12. A calm, patient, and consistent approach, particularly in challenging situations
13. Strong teamwork and communication skills
14. A caring, flexible, and resilient attitude
