The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional and friendly team as an Office Assistant / Receptionist. You'll support smooth office operations through a range of administrative and reception duties, while acting as the first point of contact for clients and visitors.
This role is ideal for a bright and enthusiastic individual, preferably with a law degree, who is looking to gain experience in a legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage all incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and client payments
2. Maintain and update archiving systems; arrange file retrievals and collections
3. Photocopy large volumes of documents for court bundles, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
4. Monitor and replenish stationery supplies
5. Run local errands as required
6. General administrative support, including basic IT or typing tasks
7. Answer incoming calls professionally and efficiently, taking and passing on accurate messages
8. Greet and assist visitors and clients, ensuring a professional and welcoming reception area
9. Copy ID documents in line with anti-money laundering requirements
10. Keep the reception and meeting areas tidy and presentable
11. Provide refreshments as needed
12. Maintain a helpful, flexible, and team-focused approach
What You'll Need to Succeed
Required:
13. GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent
14. Experience dealing with clients (in person and by phone)
15. Friendly, professional, and confident manner
16. Excellent communication and customer service skills
17. Well-presented, punctual, and reliable
18. Proactive attitude with the ability to manage time and priorities
19. Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
20. Good IT literacy and telephone handling skills
21. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
22. It would be beneficial to be a graduate in law due to the future opportunities
23. Experience working in a professional services or front-of-house setting
