We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dedicated team at a specialist school for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a full-time, term-time only position, starting in September.
About the Role:
As an LSA in our PMLD school, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex physical, medical, and learning needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals, you will help create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualised support to pupils with PMLD, including personal care and mobility support
* Assist in delivering sensory-based and therapeutic learning activities
* Support pupils’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the school day
* Use specialist equipment safely and effectively (training provided)
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Essential Requirements:
* Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term-time only)
* A caring, respectful, and patient approach
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Willingness to support with personal care and manual handling (training provided)
* Experience working with children or young people with PMLD, complex needs, or in a SEN setting
* Candidates with a background in early years or nursery settings often thrive in this role, as their playful, creative, and enthusiastic approach to learning is highly valued and well-suited to supporting our pupils' development.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, switches)
* Relevant training or qualifications (e.g., Manual Handling, Team Teach, Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
