Role Overview
A leading importer and processor of ingredients and raw materials is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Manager to lead their logistics and customer service operations. This role is vital in ensuring that high-quality ingredients meet the exact specifications of UK manufacturers and wholesalers.
Role Details
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will lead a distributed team across two sites (Cambridgeshire and Liverpool) to oversee the end-to-end supply chain process. We are looking for a strategic leader who embodies a Can Do attitude, stays proactive, and prioritizes a collaborative We Before I team culture.
Key Details
* Location: Based in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire.
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm.
* Team Size: Management of a small team of 5 across two locations.
Core Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Managing and developing the supply chain team to ensure operational excellence.
* Customer Service and Commercial Alignment: Partnering with the commercial team to understand and meet customer requirements.
* Operational Planning: Aligning production plans with customer needs and managing service levels.
* Logistics Management: Overseeing shipping, transport, and relationships with 3rd party warehousing and distribution providers.
* Inventory and Procurement: Managing inventory accuracy, forecasting, and the ordering of 3rd party products.
* Process Improvement: Driving accuracy and efficiency in systems and processes, including active collaboration in the S&OP process.
Qualifications And Experience
* Experience: Proven supply chain management experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
* Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, and develop a team across multiple locations.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (experience with JDE is preferred).
* Logistics Expertise: Solid background in working with 3rd party logistics (3PL) and warehousing.
* Communication: Exceptional communication skills to facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.
