SEN Teacher / SEMH Teacher - Havant / Portsmouth - September StartAcademics are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging SEN Teacher / SEMH Teacher / Primary Teacher / Year 6 Teacher with a passion for English to join a secondary special school in Havant/Portsmouth for boys aged 11 - 16 years. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a full-time teaching position for an SEN Teacher to start in September, full-time. This is a temp to perm contract so suitable for someone looking to secure a permanent position. You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).The school based in Havant, Hampshire is a small, nurturing environment with a highly differentiated curriculum. They offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities designed to enhance the wider learning opportunities for their students. All students have Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) for social, emotional and mental health issues. Some students have additional needs which impact their learning, such as, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Dyslexia.
The suitable SEN Teacher would ideally be primary trained or with recent experience of teaching Year 6. You will have a passion for English and enjoy delivering English Literacy. There is also the opportunity of leading the English Department. Having experience of working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs / challenging behaviour would be an advantage.
