Purpose for Fixed Term: Training Contract
This post is appointed on a fixed‑term basis for the primary purpose of providing structured training and supervised clinical development. While the postholder will contribute to service delivery, the overarching purpose of the post is to provide defined educational opportunities, supervised clinical practice and experience aligned to the relevant specialty training curriculum.

Main duties of the job
Senior Fellow in Advanced Gynaecological Ultrasound
* Advanced ultrasound clinics including endometriosis, adnexal masses and routine early pregnancy
* On‑call commitment for obstetrics and gynaecology
* Audit and research opportunities
You will work with other members of the obstetrics and gynaecology service at the Princess Anne Hospital (medical, midwifery, nursing and support). You will work closely with senior nursing staff in ambulatory gynaecology, ultrasound and acute gynaecology (gynaecology assessment and early pregnancy unit).

Person Specification – Qualifications, Training & Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
* MRCOG full membership or equivalent
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
* Completion of a formal ultrasound training course
* Evidence of research experience or involvement in ultrasound-related projects or publications
* Educational supervisor course
* Previous experience performing or reporting diagnostic ultrasound examinations
Aptitudes and skills
* Evidence and ability to work effectively in multi‑professional teams
* Understanding of equality and diversity and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
* Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English)

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £65,048 to £73,992 pa (depending on experience)
Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed fellow doctors. Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
