RETTEW is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Team Manager to lead and support the project managers within our Region 1 Transportation Team. This is a leadership role that requires someone who can develop skills, mentor, and retain a talented team of Transportation Engineers and Designers, while working closely with our Practice Leadership. This is a high-priority role with immediate impact—our team is actively seeking to fill this position as soon as possible to support critical project timelines, and we are offering a $10,000 signing bonus to the candidate who is hired.
Work Environment - Hybrid (Three days in-office)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with other Team leaders and Practice Directors to manage project managers and experienced design staff for the Transportation Practice Discipline within the Eastern PA region and work collaboratively throughout the Commonwealth and across the company’s footprint.
- Deliver high-quality services to clients and achieve established goals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships. Actively engage in client relationships through effective communication, customer service, and responsiveness to client needs with responsibility for project and service delivery.
- Lead regularly scheduled team meetings.
- Function as project manager on high-profile, key, or complex projects.
- Support sales and business development efforts. Work with other Team and Market leads to identify business development opportunities in the region, build relationships with prospective clients, and pursue new projects and contracts.
- Grow PennDOT, PTC and private work in the region. Focuses are on Traffic, Highway and Bridge projects. Retain existing clients and expand business through cross-selling services.
- Maintain, grow, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, designers, and support staff through the attraction, recruitment, retention, and of staff within the Eastern PA Region.
- Evaluate potential projects, clients, and contracts to assess and manage risk.
- Establish a yearly regional operating budget in alignment with strategic plans.
- Working with project managers and staff, oversee all project activities in the Region, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.

REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years of progressively established experience in the engineering industry with an emphasis on staff, project, client, contract, and quality management.
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering .
- P.E. Licensure.
- Reside near one of RETTEW’s Eastern PA office locations (Lancaster, Allentown, Berwyn).
- Experience with PennDOT and PTC with an emphasis on PennDOT and ECMS, including engineering regulations, standards, and practices.
- Proven track record of success in project management, business development, and client relations.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a large, diverse, multi-located team to achieve results.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
