The role

We are working closely with a local authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of a Tenancy Support Officer, on a 4-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.68- £22.04 per hour

Summary:

The Tenancy Support Officer plays a vital role in helping tenants with complex needs sustain their tenancies and maintain independent living. The post holder provides intensive, person-centred support to vulnerable tenants living in Rugby Borough Council properties by developing tailored support plans, coordinating services, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies. The role contributes to the delivery of an effective and customer-focused housing service, promoting tenancy sustainment, financial stability, and positive outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Support tenants to engage with and adhere to agreed support plans from the commencement of their tenancy.
  • Work collaboratively with Housing Management, Customer Advice and Support Teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Assist customers in maximising their income through access to benefits, grants, and financial assistance schemes.
  • Prepare concise written reports and maintain diaries of events where legal proceedings may arise.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities towards vulnerable adults are upheld.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) or an equivalent housing-related qualification.

Essentials:

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience producing accurate written reports and maintaining records.
  • Understanding of tenancy-related issues and the social and political context affecting local authority housing services.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
