Our Client is an Energy technology company are seeking to hire Senior Project Supplier Manager at Newcastle location. The role is for a contract position of 6 months Outside IR35. Our client has 150-year legacy of innovation and will focus on energy transformation, new technologies, decarbonization and Innovative leading-edge technology.
The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and resilient Project or Supplier Manager to take ownership of critical fabrication and machining work packages. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong project management discipline, confident supplier engagement, and the tenacity to drive delivery against an extremely challenging programme.
You will act as the focal point between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring commitments are met, risks are controlled, and performance is relentlessly driven to plan.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and maintain robust project plans, including expediting strategies and recovery plans where required
* Actively expedite supplier activities, challenging assumptions and driving actions to maintain on‑time delivery
* Manage supplier performance, including escalation & resolution of any blockers
* Communicate clearly and confidently with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
* Proactively identify risks and opportunities, taking decisive action to resolve issues
* Maintain accurate reporting on progress, delays, and mitigation actions
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong project management capability, with proven experience managing delivery against tight timescales
* Demonstrable experience in expediting, planning, and schedule recovery
* Solid understanding of fabrication and machining processes (e.g. machining, welding, assemblies, tolerances)
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and command respect
Desirable
* Background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial supply chains
* Knowledge of quality, inspection, or production control environments
