Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire Salary: £65,000 per annum Car allowance The Role: • Deliver mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover • Manage multiple mechanical projects simultaneously at a senior delivery level • Report directly to the Mechanical Director • Attend project handover meetings and take ownership of projects post-award • Coordinate design development with internal teams, external designers, and mechanical consultants • Review mechanical and electrical packages, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation • Procure materials, plant, and specialist subcontract services in line with programme and budget • Coordinate labour resources, including direct labour and subcontractors • Manage RFIs, technical submittals, drawing registers, and approval processes • Ensure coordinated working drawings and plant schedules are produced to the required standard • Manage project programmes, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication • Control project costs, valuations, variations, and cash flow • Attend progress meetings, design coordination workshops, and lifecycle reviews • Act as the main point of contact for project delivery The Company: • Specialist mechanical and electrical building services contractor • Strong reputation for technical expertise, quality, and professionalism • Delivers installation, maintenance, and compliance services • Works across residential, commercial, and public sector projects • Established and growing business with a strong project pipeline The Ideal Candidate: • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager • Track record delivering mechanical building services projects valued between £500k and £5m • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical services including heating, ventilation, cooling, plant, pipework, and domestic services • Experience delivering both design & build and pre-designed mechanical projects • Good commercial awareness, particularly around variations, procurement, and cost control What You’ll Get: • £65K Per Annum • £5K Car Allowance • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays • Company pension scheme • On-site parking • Sick pay • Company events • Private healthcare (after 6 months) • Life assurance (4x salary) Process: • Apply for the role • Initial discussion to review experience and suitability • Interview with the business • Offer and onboarding for successful candidates
