ABOUT THE ROLE As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Asset Cost Analyst to join our team. This is a hands-on role focused on asset data collection, technical assessment, and producing cost-effective and accurate quotations for Hard FM services. The successful candidate will assist estimating and mobilisation teams in gathering and managing asset data, tagging equipment, and supplying accurate cost inputs for Hard FM services. This position is responsible for maintaining asset-level accuracy and ensuring compliance with technical standards. Duties include asset verification and tagging to ensure proper cost alignment, with regular travel required throughout the UK. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Conduct on-site asset tagging, validation, and condition surveys across client estates (e.g. HVAC units, pumps, electrical systems). Tag assets using QR codes and populate registers to support PPM schedule development and mobilisation. Record technical information accurately and consistently using mobile data collection tools or spreadsheets. Verify asset types and specifications against SFG20 and manufacturer guidance. Ensure all assets are correctly identified and reflected in asset registers and our CAFM system Job Logic. Produce technical quotes based on surveyed assets, scope of works, and contractor inputs. Support lifecycle costing and risk assessments. Liaise with technical and operational teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Support documentation for mobilisation and handover phases. Liaise with subcontractors and internal procurement teams to obtain specialist subcontractor quotes. Provide technical quotes and support the review process for the helpdesk (CRT), assisting the team in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of reactive and minor works quotations. Conduct site visits, as required to support the Bid Team in the pursuit of new tender opportunities, assessing assets on site, any access constraints, and potential risks that may impact cost estimates, including time requirements for asset tagging. Interpret client specifications, PPM schedules, and asset data to inform estimates. Ensure alignment with SFG20 standards, manufacturer recommendations, and client-specific requirements. Collaborate with bid, commercial, and operational teams to validate pricing assumptions and methodologies for inclusion in tender returns. Work with the Commercial Solutions Director to support bid submissions and tender processes. Collaborate with operational and transition teams to ensure smooth handovers from estimating to delivery. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SFG20 standards and guidelines and ensure that all relevant information is accurately documented and uploaded to Job Logic for use in planning and scheduling. Develop and update asset-based planners in line with SFG20 maintenance standards and frequencies. Support pricing reviews, commercial negotiations, and bid governance processes, attending internal and external client meetings as required to support ongoing contracts and site reviews. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A confident and approachable individual that aligns to our company culture. 0–2 years in FM, engineering, or data analysis. Experience in engineering and building services Experience or interest in asset tagging and technical standards. Familiarity with mechanical or electrical building assets (e.g. boilers, AHUs, pumps) is preferred. Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, O&M manuals, or specifications. Basic understanding of maintenance schedules (ideally SFG20 or equivalent). The ability to understand P&L principles such as gross and net margins, mark ups and multipliers. The ability to listen and interpret need into a value proposition. A commitment to staying up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices Enjoyment of a challenge and the ability to think and problem solve spontaneously. Strong attention to detail, with good organisational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Competent using Microsoft Excel and digital tools for data collection and analysis. Clear written and verbal communication skills and a team player. A willingness to learn. Desirable Exposure to asset management, Hard services/ FM mobilisation, or compliance-based surveying. Interest in pursuing a career in estimating, cost planning, or asset management.
